Youth Safety Policy

Version 1.0.0 · Effective LEGAL_REVIEW_REQUIRED

In short

Age

When you create an account you choose an age band: under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 or older. We do not ask for your date of birth. If you choose under 13, no account is kept: everything is deleted immediately. You can move to a stricter age band yourself; moving to an older band needs support.

Guardian approval

Players aged 13 to 17 enter a parent's or guardian's email address. The guardian receives a secure link, valid for 7 days, that works only once and requires no account. The guardian confirms they are the parent or legal guardian and chooses each permission:

Nothing is allowed by default. Approval lasts up to 12 months and can be withdrawn at any time.

What stays private for minors

Until the guardian approves, the player sees a waiting screen where they can resend the request, sign out or delete the account. After approval, private features such as logging matches and goals and recording movement sessions work regardless of which permissions were granted, because they stay private and movement sessions store no location. For anything the guardian has not allowed, the player's Passport stays private, they cannot be found in scout search and scouts cannot send them requests or trials.

Public display

Minors appear publicly with first name and last initial only, labelled "Youth player". Exact age, school, contact details and location are never shown. Lock-screen notifications for minors use generic text.

Scouts and trials

Scouts can contact a minor only through PitchProof's request system, never by private message, and the guardian receives an email when a scout makes a request. A minor can accept a trial only after the guardian approves it through a separate secure link.

Promotions

Minors do not see subscription promotions outside Settings.

Reporting

Anyone can report concerns about the safety of a young player. These reports are reviewed first.
